Sales girl arraigned for allegedly stealing vegetable oil worth N6.3m

 


A 32-year-old sales girl, Habibat Ajibode, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing her employer’s vegetable oil worth N6.3 million.

Ajibode, whose address was not provided, was charged with stealing, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Kemi Oladapo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 24, at Okebola area of Ibadan.

She alleged that the defendant stole different types of vegetable oil worth N6.3 million belonging to her employer, Mr Simeon Fabuyi.

She said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs M.A. Atanda, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until April 15 for hearing.
