The Bauchi state government says it has disbursed N261 million to the relevant agencies to fasttrack successful implementation of immunisation programme in the state.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Auwal Jatau said this during an advocacy visit by the African Health Budget Network (AHBN) and the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), on Thursday in Bauchi.
He said the state government had released N261 million out of the N872 million earmarked for immunisation services, assuring that the remaining funds would be disbursed to support its immunisation agenda.
The visit, led by AHBN’s Focal Person, Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa and AFENET Lead, Dr Habila Ismaila, aimed at sustaining advocacy for timely release of funds for immunisation activities.
Musa commended the state government over the allocation of N872 million for immunisation programme in 2025, and its support to the implementation of the Zero Dose Learning Hub.
He also lauded the government’s efforts towards improving immunisation coverage, especially among zero-dose and underserved communities.
“The advocacy reflects a strong commitment from health stakeholders to strengthen immunisation system and ensure no child is left behind in the state,” he said.
Reports had it that the visiting team also included members of the Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH).
