Woman, 34, docked over alleged assault, conspiracy

A 34-year old woman, Ajasa Dorcas, was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Ota Magistrates ‘Court, Ogun, over alleged assault and conspiracy.

Dorcas, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count of assault and conspiracy to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 6.00p.m on Feb 13, at Eko block Bus-Stop, Lafenwa Itele, Ota.

Adaraloye said that the defendant and others now at large, conspired to assault the complainant, Modester Michael, and injured him in the face.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000, with one surety in like sum.

She ordered that the surety who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, should be gainfully employed, and present evidence of tax payment.

The magistrate adjourned the case until March 11, for further hearing.
