UK 'Lacks Manpower' for Ukraine Peacekeeping, Says Former Army Chief

 


 

Lord Dannatt has said the UK military is too depleted to take a leading role in any future peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. He estimates that 40,000 British troops would be needed but warns that the country "just hasn't got that number available." 


 

This comes amid calls for a NATO-led force of up to 100,000 troops, with Britain and France expected to play key roles. The UK government has pledged continued support for Ukraine but faces criticism over its defense readiness.
