A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Hycienth Ngwu, has urged political office holders in other parties to stop procrastinating and join the winning and performing party – APC.
Ngwu, who is the former South-East Publicity Secretary of the APC, gave the advice to lawmakers and chieftains of other political parties on Thursday in Enugu.
The APC chieftain was reacting to the gale of massive defections to the ruling APC in Enugu State.
It would be recalled that within two days, House of Representative Members – Rep. Paul Nnamchi (Enugu East/Isi-Uzo) and Rep. Sam Atu (Enugu North and South) – defected to the ruling party.
The decamping lawmakers cited performance of President Bola Tinubu as well as internal party disharmony and reconcilable disagreement as reasons for leaving their former party, which is Labour Party (LP).
“The recent decampment of some National Assembly members of Enugu State extraction from LP to APC is yet another testimony to the fact that President Tinubu's sterling qualities in administration are being appreciated by good politicians.
“I urge others still contemplating on the idea of decamping to stop procrastinating and join the winning and performing party.
“APC is the only party that can guarantee the Presidency for the Igbos.
“The party has the political wherewithal of winning elections,” he said.
Ngwu said that APC enjoys grassroots popularity as well as well-organised leadership structures that “can win elections in Nigeria today and tomorrow.”
“The decampees are highly welcome. And we look forward to receiving other political officer bearers soon,” the APC chieftain said.
