Nasarawa Assembly member empowers constituents, resigns from SDP

Arc. Musa Gude, member representing Uke/Karshi constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has distributed motorcycles to five ward chairmen of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in his constituency.
Gude, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Nasarawa Urban Development Agency (NUDA), distributed the motorcycles on Saturday at the palace of the Emir of Karshi in Karu Local Government Area.

He said the gesture was part of his continuous efforts to empower his constituents and improve their standard of living.

The lawmaker, while highlighting his achievements in education, health, agriculture, employment and other sectors, said he had also paid WAEC fees for students, drilled boreholes, provided transformers, and offered financial assistance to several constituents.

“I urge the beneficiaries not to sell the motorcycles but to use them to improve their lives and ease their movements,” he said.

Gude assured the people of his continued commitment to providing sound and effective representation at the state legislature.

At the event, the lawmaker also announced his resignation from the SDP and submitted his resignation letter to Mr Isyaku Saidu Gude, Chairman of SDP, Karshi Ward One.

He explained that his decision to leave the party followed wide consultations with his family, political associates, friends and supporters.

In their separate remarks, Mr Abdulmalik Abubakar, Speaker of Karu Local Government Legislative Council, and Mr Bala Bako, SDP Chairman of Karu LGA, commended Gude for his developmental initiatives and people-oriented programmes.

Also, Mr Abdul Umar, Director-General of the Gude Campaign Organisation for the 2023 general elections, lauded the lawmaker’s performance, describing him as the best representative Uke/Karshi constituency has ever produced.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Musa Mohammed, SDP Chairman of Uke Ward, thanked Gude for the gesture and pledged that the motorcycles would be used for the intended purpose.
