Mbah @53: Group donates items to vulnerable children in Enugu

 

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Friends Initiative has donated edible and non–edible items to the Mother Louisa Charity Home Enugu, to celebrate Gov. Peter Mbah’ 53rd birthday.

The Director General of the group, Mr Chika Egbonnaj disclosed during the donation that the items include: bags of rice, cartons of vegetable oil, diapers, packs of bottled water, indomie packs among others.

Egbonnaji said the gesture was a show of affection and compassion to children at the home.

“The friends initiative is Gov. Mbah’s foremost support group as the visit is to honour him on his birthday.

“We are celebrating his transformational strides across Enugu and the inspirational leadership he offers.

“The governor places high value on empathy, inclusion and shared prosperity,” he said.

The group’s DG said Mbah’s vision for a better Enugu is clearly reflected on n the actions of his supporters.

“This proves that governance with a human face is the foundation of true progress.

“This visit is filled with warmth and has left an indelible mark on the children and their caregivers.

“The true measure of any society is how it treats its most vulnerable members,” he said.

He remarked that it was heartwarming to see the children in their innocence, praying for the governor and wishing him continued wisdom and success.

“The group recently witnessed a change of guard with my ascension as its DG, replacing Mr Cornelius Edeh, who has been elevated as its patron,” he said.

The founder of the home, Mrs Louisa Ekwe expressed profound gratitude to the group and wished it continued successes in all endeavours.

“We acknowledge your selflessness and commitment to uplift the less privileged in the society,” she said.

It would be  recalled that the governor celebrated his birthday on March 17.
